Publisher's Description:
ICL-Icon Extractor - ICL-Icon Extractor is a fully-fledged tool for searching and extracting icons from any location. The latter may include files, folders, icon libraries, archives, or web collections. Added to this is an ability to extract and save Windows Vista icons. ICL-Icon Extractor extracts icons from ICO, CUR, ANI, EXE, ICL, DLL, SCR, IL, NIL, DCR, RES, OCX, and other libraries.
Extracted icons are stored along with their source information in special ICC icon collections, where they can be easily sorted, located, and viewed in a variety of display modes, including 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, Monochrome, 16 Colors, 256 Colors, or True Color. The program allows you to export icons to ICO, PNG, JPG, CUR, GIF, XPM and BMP formats, archive icons in ZIP files, delete duplicate icons and split icon libraries into individual icon files.
ICL-Icon Extractor also offers you a pain-free way to customize the look of your Windows desktop with new icons of your choice. Icon customization is done from the Customize Windows Icons dialog, which is faster and handier than using the standard Windows method. You can easily change icons of the desktop, start menu, drives, and folders. Additionally, you can change icon size and icon color depth, set space between icons - all in one click.

People,
As a practice I never respond to surveys, opinions, etc. In the case of Icon Extractor however, I feel it is such an excellent product that I will freely recemmend it to associates who need such a product. You will find me a loyal customer of yours for some of your other products as my need arises. Keep up the good work!

ICL - Icon Extractor did exactly what I wanted in to. In fact, I had my doubts on it\'s limitations and abilities, but it worked out great. (And by great I mean extracting over 100 icons from one ICL at once!) However, I did find one lack in it's features. There was no 'save all' function. Thankz very much for this product.

Icon Extractor
I happened on Icon Extractor out of frustration with another icon program. The download allowed me to try it first, which was a pleasant experience. Although I would have like a manual in PDF, the program was intuitive enough to figure out, and I no longer need a manual. I purchased the software and accomplished all that I needed to. I recommend this program; coming from me, that is a strong endorsement!

Good, but not exciting...
I found it reasonably easy to use (though some of the demo version limitations made it hard to assess.) The feature I'd most like to see is a 'save as dll' option for creating dll based icon libraries. Other than that, not bad. My main goal is to gather and sort many of the icons available on my machine so I can find them easily. It helps in the gathering, but the sorting is still far from great. (Oh, and it'd be nice if the icon lists were sortable in some way.)

probably the best icon extractor!
the interface is friendly; it's very easy to use; has all the basic features expected; you don't need to read any help to work out how to use it; it's also very quick at scanning files and pulling out the icons for copying or saving to another file format.
i'm not sure if i would pay for it as i don't need it very often.
